From Citizens for Local Choice: "As of today, March 1st, we have distributed over 37,000 petitions and have over 1,000 volunteers statewide distributing them to maximize our signature gathering efforts! Thank you to our volunteers, county captains, and active grassroots across the state who are engaged and active in the effort to restore local control!"
This is a grassroots ballot initiative effort to push back on Act No. 233 of 2023 which forces local communities to go through the State when it comes to the zoning authority of utility-scale wind and solar projects. We, in the North, are especially vulnerable to this unwelcome intrusion of green energy.
